Our History and Mission
In 1968, a group of Cuban exiles, led by Dr. Manuel R. Morales, founded the Big Five Club to unite the members of the Havana’s five most prestigious Club – Havana Yacht Club, Vedado Tennis Club, Casino Español, Havana Biltmore Yacht and Country Club and Miramar Yacht Club. Their principles were very simple:
“The Club shall endeavor always to preserve the Love of God, the Fatherland, the Family, the Cuban Traditions, and the Principles of Freedom and Democracy among its members.”
Throughout the years, the Big Five Club has remained true to its mission. Its members have gone on to become prominent members of our community. From Lawyers and Judges and Doctors to successful businessmen. From Mayors and Congressmen to Police Chief and Property Appraisers. Internationally acclaimed actors and musicians.
Our Club offers a wide array of sports activities for children and adults alike. We offer dominoes and card games as well as a busy calendar of social and cultural events.
The Big Five Club provides its members with a welcoming atmosphere to unwind and cultivate lifelong friendships where memories are made and cherished for a lifetime.
En 1968, un grupo de exiliados cubanos, liderado por el Dr. Manuel R. Morales, fundó el Big Five Club para unir a los miembros de los cinco clubes más prestigiosos de La Habana: Havana Yacht Club, Vedado Tennis Club, Casino Español, Havana Biltmore Yacht and Country Club y Miramar Yacht Club. Sus principios eran muy simples:
“El Club se esforzará siempre por preservar el Amor a Dios, la Patria, la Familia, las Tradiciones Cubanas y los Principios de Libertad y Democracia entre sus miembros.”
A lo largo de los años, el Big Five Club se ha mantenido fiel a su misión. Sus miembros se han convertido en figuras prominentes de nuestra comunidad: desde abogados, jueces y médicos hasta exitosos empresarios. Desde alcaldes y congresistas hasta jefes de policía y tasadores de propiedades. Actores y músicos de renombre internacional.
Nuestro Club ofrece una amplia gama de actividades deportivas para niños y adultos por igual. Ofrecemos juegos de dominó y cartas, así como un calendario lleno de eventos sociales y culturales.
El Big Five Club brinda a sus miembros una atmósfera acogedora para relajarse y cultivar amistades duraderas, donde se crean y atesoran recuerdos para toda la vida.
